If you are looking to explore the grounds of Dunrobin Castle without entering the castle itself, there are options such as walking to the sea which the castle overlooks, and into the castle's woodland.
To visit, you enter the castle grounds from the A9 road north of Golspie, and pull into a long tree-lined drive. Staff usher visitors to park in a free parking area to the left of the driveway.
Walking to the castle, there is a path to the right of the property, which has no vehicle access. This walk takes you to the other side of the property, where you have the sea coast and the castle gardens.
Pictured is the view of Dunrobin Castle from the sea, the Moray Firth.
Following the paths into the woodland, you can also walk and explore on foot. Dogs are permitted in the woodland.
